About mydentist, High Street, Penistone

{my}dentist Penistone, set in the beautiful countryside of the lovely market town, north of Sheffield. We are easily accessible from Barnsley, Sheffield, Leeds, Huddersfield and Wakefield with local trains and buses that are only a 5-minute walk from our location. We have a shared car park facility to the rear of the building that we share with our neighbour, the doctor’s surgery. We offer a wide range of dental treatments to NHS, {my}options and private patients. We always accept children on the NHS (aged 18 and under). We are proud to provide FREE consultations to all our private treatment options including: Clear Correct and Invisalign teeth straightening, dental implants, composite bonding, teeth whitening and all smile makeover related enquiries. We also offer private crowns, veneers, dentures and much more. All private treatment costing over £350 we have interest free finance (subject to credit checks and successful applications). As we know a lot of people lead busy lives, therefore we offer some weekends and late-night Tuesday appointments for {my}options and private patients.   • Dr .Mohamed Badr (Dental Implant Surgeon) Qualified from: BDS(Hons), MSc, PhD, MOralSurg RCS England, CCST Oral Surg Eygpt, 1996 GDC No: 242224
    Mohamed is a Consultant Oral Surgeon with extensive experience in various aspects of Oral Surgery and Implantology developed through various training and teaching posts held in the UK and overseas. Mohamed had his dental degree from Cairo University in 1996 and completed a clinical and academic training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Cairo University, The University of Manchester, and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. Currently, Mohamed is a Consultant Oral Surgeon and Senior Lecturer at Manchester University Hospitals. Mohamed is also a member at the Royal College of Surgeons, England. Mohamed has joined our family at {my}dentist to share our goal of delivering high quality and evidence based Oral Surgery and Implantology services to our patients. Outside the Implant world, Mohamed treasures his time spent with family and enjoys sea fishing.

    Mary graduated from India obtaining her BDS degree from the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bangalore in 2002. After working in India for 2 years she decided to move to the UK to start her career as a dentist. Mary now lives in Sheffield with her husband and two children. She has been working in the UK as a dental practitioner since 2005 and worked at various practices. Mary qualified in aesthetic and restorative dentistry gaining an MSC at Kings College London in 2020. She now specializes in composite bonding and bridge work. Mary enjoys cooking, yoga and spending time with her family.

Jess is a provider with SmileFast and absolutely loves helping patients achieve their best smile.     Shashi is a passionate dentist who graduated with top honors and distinction in his Bachelor of Dental Surgery. He graduated in 2017 from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore, India and secured top ranks in 6 subjects at his university. He is the recipient of Merit Award from Indian Society of Periodontology for securing highest in periodontics. Shashi has completed his "fellowship in Aesthetic Dentistry" from ILAMED, University of Greifswald, Germany which developed his keen interest in aesthetic/ cosmetic dentistry. He has also won numerous awards, presented scientific presentations, conferences and numerous public speaking events. Shashi is well versed in all general dental procedures and has a special interest in aesthetic dentistry - composite bonding, teeth whitening, veneers, smile makeovers, denture aesthetics, crowns and bridges and is keen on minimally invasive dental procedures .     Sorabh gained his bachelor’s degree in 2003 from India and then registered with the General Dental Council in the UK in 2006. He has been working in General Practice since 2007. He is committed to furthering his knowledge and skills and regularly attends postgraduate clinical courses. Sorabh enjoys all aspects of dentistry and is enthusiastic about promoting a preventive approach to dental care. He has been working at {my}dentist Penistone since 2013. He is currently studying for an MSC in endodontics. Sorabh in his spare time likes to spend time with his family. Sorabh is an excellent cook and often brings in food to share with the practice team- which is always well received.
  • Dr.Victoria Greenwood Qualified from: BDS UK, 2013 GDC No: 244631
    Victoria graduated from Sheffield University in 2013, with a bachelor’s degree in Dentistry. This was following almost 10 years as a cardiac physiologist at St George Hospital London. Victoria realized her dream of becoming a dentist and retrained whilst raising her 2 young children alongside her husband. Victoria has mostly worked as a general practitioner within the NHS and the Barnsley area. Since working here she has become an elite provider in ClearCorrect teeth straightening, and has completed over 100 ClearCorrect cases so far! Check out our social media pages to see many successful cases. Victoria enjoys golfing, snowboarding and walking her springer spaniel in her free time.
  • Miss.Kelly Tatchell Qualified from: Dental Hygiene and Therapy Degree Sheffield, 2015 GDC No: 187011
    Kelly qualified as a dental hygienist, therapist in 2015 from the University of Sheffield and has been working at {my}dentist Penistone since 2016. Kelly is very passionate about providing one on one advice on prevention and improving oral health. Quality patient care is very important to her and being sure that patients receive the absolute best care while with her is one of her top priorities. Kelly carries out Treatments such as: scale and polishes, in-depth gum disease treatment to help prevent tooth loss and also stain removal treatment (Airflow). Kelly enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going for nice walks and enjoying local pub food.
  • Miss.Meghan Pritchett (Treatment co-ordinator) Qualified from: NVQ L3 Dental Nurse UK, 2022 GDC No: 304184
    Meghan started working in dentistry during the pandemic in 2020 and began her dental nurse training shortly after in January 2021. Meghan is a qualified dental nurse, with experience working in both NHS and private dentistry, and so has a wealth of dental knowledge. She is always happy to answer any questions that you may have. Most recently, Meghan has stepped into her new role as Treatment Coordinator, here at {my}dentist, Penistone. She has a kind, bubbly personality and is easy to talk to. With her experience in dentistry this makes her the prefect person to discuss your treatment options with. Meghan also prides herself in her customer service and works hard to ensure every patient has the best possible journey, from consultation, to end of treatment. In her spare time, Meghan enjoys anything fitness, hiking in the peak district and going to gigs.
  • Miss.Rebecca Mills (Hygienist) Qualified from: Diploma in Dental Hygiene and Therapy England, 2016 GDC No: 231201
    Rebecca qualified as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist in 2016 from the University of Sheffield. Prior to this, Rebecca was a qualified Dental Nurse working chair side with a dentist so uses her vast knowledge and experience from both roles daily. Since qualifying, Rebecca has gained a vast amount of experience in restorative work and has a keen interest in preventative dentistry. She also has a qualification in tooth whitening and can provide a number of cosmetic treatments to brighten her patient's smile. In her spare time Rebecca enjoys spending time with her family and friends and most importantly looking after her two dogs.
  • Mr.Hassan-Ali Ismail (HI Dental Limited) Qualified from: BDS, PGCert Med Ed, AFHEA UK, 2018 GDC No: 278379
    Hassan graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2018 and was awarded a prize in oral and maxillofacial surgery. After completing his foundation training, he developed his surgical skills by joining the oral and maxillofacial surgery team in Manchester. His role included on-call cover where he managed patients with trauma, infection, and cancer. He then pursued further training which involved removing impacted wisdom teeth and managing anxious patients using conscious sedation and behaviour management techniques. Following two years in oral and maxillofacial surgery, Hassan sought to broaden his clinical experience by working in the community dental services, where he managed paediatric and adult patients with complex health and behavioural challenges. Hassan has published widely on a multiple areas within maxillofacial surgery, and has presented his findings at many national and international conferences. Hassan currently works in the Yorkshire and Humber region as a Specialty Registrar in Oral Surgery. His duties include carrying out all aspects of oral surgery under local anaesthesia, sedation and general anaesthetic. He is well known for his calm and comforting nature which has allowed him to provide positive dental experiences for many anxious patients. Outside of dentistry Hassan enjoys playing badminton, football and studying language.
  • Mrs.Hollie Baddon (Practice Manager) Qualified from: NVQ L3 Dental Nurse, CMI L3 Management, NVQ L3 Business Admin, NVQ L5 Leadership and Management, NVQ L7 Strategic Management UK, 2010 GDC No: 209409
    Having started working in dentistry in 2009, Hollie has a wealth of knowledge in the dental sector. Hollie qualified as a dental nurse in 2010 and putting together her dental knowledge and both organisational and people skills by 2013 she became the CQC registered practice manager. Hollies role in the practice is to ensure we are working in a safe and effective manner for our patients and our team. Hollie works hard to support the team to reach their maximum potential providing as many treatment options as possible, organising regular training and coaching to ensure the team can treat our patients beyond their expectations giving them the optimum patient journey. Hollie ensures she is capable of providing the best support for the practice by completing regular training, her most recent been the completion of a NVQ L7 in Strategic Management and Leadership. Hollie prides herself on a stable and happy team at the practice. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her young family and running.

    Having started in dentistry in 2010, Phoebe is a qualified and registered dental nurse. Since qualifying she has taken part in delivering oral health education sessions in schools and also has experience of nursing in a prison dental unit. She has furthered her knowledge in many aspects of dentistry, taking courses in radiography, Impression taking and training in Implant nursing. For years Phoebe has nursed for orthodontic cases, facial aesthetics, cosmetic restorative cases, and more recently here at Penistone for Implant cases, this making Phoebe the perfect person to work as our treatment coordinator. Her knowledge and understanding of the treatments we can provide allow her to confidently discuss treatment options with patients and give them a 5star journey. What are dental implants?
Dental implants are a fixed solution for missing teeth that are the closest possible replacement for natural teeth. They involve one or more titanium screws being inserted into your jawbone to mimic a natural tooth root. Dental crowns are securely attached to these to fill the gaps in your mouth.   • Consultation Your initial consultation will be with either our Implant Surgeon or Treatment Coordinator (TCO), who can discuss the different types of implants, single or multiple depending on your need. Following this there may be a need for a more clinical focused consultation.

  • Diagnostic Scans We will carry out a number of digital scans, to build a digital 3D model of your mouth so we can get a clear picture of the area we will place the implant, and a more detailed X-ray using a Cone Beam Computer Tomography scanner so that our Implant surgeon can assess the state of the bone below the gum to get a really clear picture of your treatment need.

  • Treatment Plan Once our experienced implant surgeon has assessed all of you scans they will explain the nature of your treatment, the stages involved and costs. We offer flexible payment options to make implants even more affordable.

  • Commence Treatment Once you are happy we will begin treatment. The length and numbers of appointments will vary depending on the complexity of your particular need, but your Implant Surgeon will have detailed all of this in your treatment plan.

  • Implant Placed Once the implant(s) are placed it may be necessary it might be necessary to allow time for healing before attaching the replacement teeth. Once we are happy the implant has healed we will arrange a series of appointments to fabricate the replacement teeth.

  • Aftercare Your Implant Surgeon will advise you about looking after your implant and may well give you some painkillers to help with the pain over the days after your surgery as well as detailed advice about cleaning the implants and the teeth attached to them.
